Establish the missing periods
Review the current ledger, bank history, settlement exports, tax-account details, and inventory support. Identify what can be reconstructed and which records still need to be obtained.
Historical bookkeeping cleanup
A separately priced cleanup project for established Canadian e-commerce sellers with incomplete or unreliable books. Available before or alongside monthly accounting, including when changing accountants.
Who this is for
You are behind on bookkeeping, switching firms, or finding unexplained settlement, inventory, and sales-tax balances. Start by identifying the missing periods and records rather than carrying an unresolved balance into the next close.
Review the current ledger, bank history, settlement exports, tax-account details, and inventory support. Identify what can be reconstructed and which records still need to be obtained.
Use order and settlement reports to separate revenue, refunds, fees, tax, reserves, and deposits. Reconcile payment processor balances and remove duplicate or unsupported entries.
Connect available purchase and stock records to inventory and COGS. Identify unresolved filing periods and tax differences for separate review or filing scope where needed.
Document adjustments, remaining questions, and the recurring close requirements. For clients continuing into monthly accounting, agree the workflow in Xero or QuickBooks Online.
What you receive
After a free fit conversation, the paid E-commerce Owner Tax and Accounting Review defines the missing periods, material issues, and fixed-fee cleanup scope. Cleanup deliverables and affected periods are stated in the proposal.

Cleanup is separately priced and does not require an ongoing monthly engagement. Tax returns, amended filings, disclosures, payroll corrections, and foreign-provider work are scoped separately. The review timing is confirmed before records are requested.
Pricing is private. A fixed-fee proposal follows the review if there is a fit.
A clear first step
Tell us what is changing in the business and where the tax or accounting uncertainty sits. No records or platform credentials are needed for the first inquiry.
The review does not include bookkeeping repairs, filed returns, legal advice, foreign tax opinions, or an audit unless those services are expressly included in a separate engagement.
Discuss your tax and accounting positionCommon questions
Yes. Cleanup can be a project before or alongside monthly accounting. The proposal identifies the covered periods, deliverables, fee, and remaining dependencies.
Yes. The review considers available exports, prior reconciliations, filed returns, inventory support, and read-only access. Records are shared through a secure client portal after fit is confirmed.
No. We identify filing gaps, then agree the necessary tax work separately. Historical GST/HST corrections, corporate returns, and disclosure questions depend on the file and applicable requirements.
